Job summary

Advocate Health in Cartersville, GA seeks a Patient Services Representative I (PSR) for a part-time 24-hour workweek. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00–5:00 with variable days; position may transition to full-time in the future.

The PSR greets patients, completes registrations, verifies demographics and insurance, collects balances, and assists with financial clearance. Strong communication and privacy skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; patient access experience preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and ADT software.
• Ability to communicate effectively, provide courteous service, and problem solve.
• Demonstrates understanding of basic healthcare processes and privacy rules.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for appointments and monitor patient flow for efficiency.
• Complete registration for walk-in patients and verify/update demographics/insurance.
• Verify insurance information, collect balances and provide estimates due.
• Follow financial clearance policies and refer to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Schedule follow-ups and close visits with required documentation.
