Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in hospital/clinic or health care financial services, or related customer service fields.
• Knowledge of insurance programs (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge.
• Excellent communication and data entry skills.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.
• Self-starter in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification, demographic information, and insurance coverage.
• Accepts point of service payments.
• Enters patient information accurately into hospital information systems.
• Refers questions about financial liability to appropriate resources.
• Accepts medical authorization or referral forms as appropriate.
• Processes key documents to obtain insurance information.
• Provides payment estimates for out-of-pocket costs.
• Educates patients on registration kiosks or online systems.
• Identifies routine issues and escalates to Lead Patient Access Concierge.
