Job summary

Trinity Health in Syracuse is seeking a Patient Access Representative - front-end to collaborate with patients, families and hospital staff to ensure a smooth patient journey. You will perform desk and bedside registration, pre-registration, and cross-training across Patient Access.

The role focuses on collecting demographics, insurance information, and financial responsibilities including co-pays and past due balances, while maintaining EPIC workflows and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor or AAS; high school diploma with 2–3 years' experience acceptable.
• Proficient data entry with EPIC, PeopleSoft and Midas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• HIPAA rules knowledge and confidentiality adherence.
• Obtain HFMA certification within a year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Admit and check patients on Emergency and psychiatric boards.
• Maintain accurate charts and patient documentation.
• Handle cash collections including co-pays and estimates.
• Schedule walk-in imaging and newborn tests.
• Cross-train across Patient Access locations.
• Maintain Healthstreams training and HIPAA compliance.
• Escalate accounts not financially secure to leadership.
