Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a part-time Patient Access Clerk for the Women’s and Outpatient areas. You will gather patient demographic and financial information, pre-register tests, and escort patients to assigned areas.

Responsibilities include handling hospital paperwork, obtaining signatures, signing in patients, and ensuring HIPAA/EMTALA compliance while delivering a welcoming check-in experience.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes and speaks English clearly to communicate with patients and staff.
• Completion of Medical Secretary program or office training preferred.
• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• Hospital experience and/or medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Windows systems.
• Able to handle diverse groups and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient demographic and financial information and enters into computer system.
• Assigns patient rooms and escorts patients to the assigned area.
• Answers telephone and communicates with house supervisor.
• Obtains signatures and ensures accurate documentation.
• Pre-registers scheduled tests and scans documents like physician orders and insurance cards.
• Follows HIPAA and EMTALA regulations per hospital policy.
