Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; some higher education preferred.
• Experience with an EMR/PM system required.
• Knowledge of medical insurances preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appointments for the following day and ensure data completeness.
• Greet patients promptly and professionally.
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients.
• Review and verify data in the EMR.
• Collect copayments and balance payments.
• Operate the practice management system per guidelines.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Reconcile daily payments and close batches.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
• Provide printed materials or portal access to patients.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Keep workspace neat and restock supplies.
• Travel to other OrthoNY locations as needed.
