Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Patient Access professional to manage scheduling, preregistration, financial clearance, and authorization/referral validation while providing clear information on patient financial responsibilities. This role requires accurate data collection and communication to ensure proper bill submission and positive patient experiences.

Experience in medical or financial services is preferred, with familiarity in insurance verifications and call center environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related experience preferred, ideally in medical or financial services or a demanding customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients, validates demographic data and benefits.
• Verifies medical benefits and required authorizations/referrals.
• Ensures accurate data for timely bill submission and COB coding.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities and assists with estimates and collections.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains professional relationships with patients, AHN staff, and external contacts.
• Maintains productivity and adheres to AHN policies and completes required trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
