Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a detail-oriented Call Center Associate for the Patient Access & Care Team. You will act as the first point of contact, linking patient experiences between PACT and practice sites, handling inbound calls, and following up as needed.

Responsibilities include scheduling, data verification, and basic troubleshooting across systems. Ideal candidates have 0–1 year in healthcare or customer service, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with diverse patients.
• Basic medical terminology helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow workflows in a structured environment.
• Experience in handling multiple phone lines and systems.

Responsibilities

• Link patient experience between PACT and practice sites using policies.
• Assist inbound calls; make outbound calls when needed; issue follow-ups.
• Troubleshoot basic online applications or access issues.
• Schedule appointments; coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and adds.
• Verify demographics and insurance; ensure data is complete and accurate.
• Update medical records and patient information as needed.
• Route triage calls to RN when necessary; handle emergencies per guidelines.
• Determine patient needs for scheduling, referrals, and medication refills.
• Provide customer service per standards; document interactions across systems.
• Support marketing and provider databases; perform regular reporting.
