Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Access oriented professional responsible for scheduling, verifying eligibility, and posting payments under physician supervision.

The role supports patient care activities, collects demographics, explains forms, ensures medical necessity, and assists in financial counseling and charity applications. You will collaborate with physicians, care teams, and insurance providers to deliver accurate, compassionate service.

Formación

• Three years of experience in a hospital or medical business office setting.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficient typing/keyboard skills.
• Supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Schedules patient appointments and enters information accurately in the system.
• Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information and enters it with accuracy.
• Explains required forms to patients and obtains signatures.
• Ensures medical necessity compliance by data collection and document review.
• Collects patient liability, sets up payment plans and screens for eligibility; handles charity applications.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and ensures authorizations are completed in a timely fashion.
• Posts payments in the system and generates patient receipts.
• Leads daily departmental processes, mentors staff and aids in orientation and training.
• Communicates with physicians, care management, departments, insurance companies, patients and families.
• Delivers safe, compassionate, and efficient care with adherence to policies and budgetary guidelines.
• Promotes professional growth and serves as a preceptor to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to the community by providing personalized experiences.
