Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented receptionist to greet visitors and support Scheduling and Patient Financial Services in a busy rehabilitation hospital.

You will collect demographic and insurance data, verify benefits, check in patients for multi-discipline appointments, and assist with payments, referrals, and wayfinding. Strong data entry and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• GED or Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• High accuracy data entry with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with professional staff.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, families, staff and visitors at the check-in/out desk.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and clinical data for pre-registration and registration.
• Coordinate/schedule initial evaluations and multi-discipline appointments.
• Manage calls from insurance managers to coordinate care.
• Collect charges and provide receipts; explain benefits and available options.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, or in person and support Scheduling and PFS staff.
• Perform other clerical and therapist support tasks as directed by manager.
