• Must be computer proficient and able to use an EHR/HER system.
• Typing speed of at least 25 WPM and 10-key proficiency.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Clear and respectful communication over the telephone.
• California driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must meet health/immunization requirements or obtain exemption.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answers inbound calls and provides quality customer service.
• Operates as the primary contact for inbound/outbound calls and routes to the correct department.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments; collects demographic and financial information; screens for eligibility.
• Pre-registers patients and communicates financial requirements (e.g., co-pays).
• Verifies insurance eligibility as allowed.
• Follow-ups on appointments and patient inquiries; maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Willing to change shifts to meet patient and department needs.
• Ensures specialty reports are reviewed as needed.
• Coordinates with language services as directed.
• Identifies patient needs to provide accurate information about care.
• Performs necessary transactions via mainframe or web apps.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the company, programs, policies, and technology.
• Other duties as required.
