Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Medical Assistant I in South Bakersfield to handle routine patient care and clerical support in our clinic. You will work under licensed providers, following California scope of practice and approved protocols.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and a valid BLS card. Venipuncture experience is preferred, and proficiency in EHR documentation is highly valued for accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Valid California driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient care functions following clinical protocols.
• Support providers with routine clerical tasks as assigned.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider orders.
• Verify patient identity using two forms of ID per HIPAA.
• Assist with minor procedures and diagnostic examinations.
• Apply infection control practices per Clinica Sierra Vista.
• Perform venipuncture and other lab duties.
• Document patient information in the Electronic Health Records system.
