Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance data, and guide them through the registration process. Qualifications

High School Graduate.
Excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to verify demographics, insurance and financial information accurately.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Creates the initial electronic health record to support the patient care team.
Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographic, guarantor and insurance information.
Discusses and collects co-pays and other financial responsibilities with patients.
Explains insurance coverage and potential financial obligations to patients.
Schedules appointments and coordinates cancellations or recalls as needed.
Greets patients and visitors; provides information and directs inquiries.
Monitors electronic health record work queues and maintains HIPAA-compliant practices.
