Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL seeks an experienced Patient Access/Revenue Cycle specialist to review Medicare notices, estimate patient financial responsibility, and verify insurance benefits. You will register patients, collect demographics, and ensure accurate records while delivering outstanding service.

Ideal candidates are bilingual in English/Spanish with strong computer skills and HIPAA knowledge, committed to teamwork within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines and learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written.
• Adheres to HIPAA and CMS rules; knowledge of EHR systems.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management staff for pre-authorization and ensures necessary information.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits with insurers, obtains pre-authorizations within timelines.
• Registers patients for services, ensuring accuracy and avoiding duplicate records.
• Collects demographics and confirms insurance details.
• Provides coverage for assigned work areas during shifts and arranges relief as needed.
• Facilitates communication between clinical, ancillary, and access departments to improve patient experience.
• Maintains excellent customer service and documents payer conversations and payment arrangements.
• Attends department meetings and supports PBX coverage as needed.
• Performs cashiering tasks such as collections and cash reconciliation.
• Other duties as assigned.
