Job summary

WellSpan Health in Lancaster, PA, seeks a courteous front desk specialist to support patient access and financial services. Under supervision, you will collect deposits, verify insurance, gather demographic information, and schedule referrals or appointments.

You will handle payments at the kiosk, reconcile daily cash, respond to billing questions, and aid with process improvements while maintaining privacy, accuracy and teamwork in a busy medical office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Diploma or post‑high school vocational training in a medical/administrative or business field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient interview to collect accurate financial, biographic and demographic information.
• Explains financial requirements and collects deposits or deductibles; explains insurance coverages and precertification requirements.
• Collects and reviews registrations for accurate information in systems.
• Schedules patient appointments and handles referrals/preauthorization/test instructions.
• Manages check-in/check-out processes and processes payments at the kiosk; issues receipts.
