AdventHealth seeks a part-time patient access specialist in Hendersonville, TN to perform Medicare reviews, determine patient financial responsibility, and coordinate with insurance providers. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication with patients and staff.

The position involves registering patients, handling payments, and ensuring accurate demographic and insurance data while maintaining HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing confidential information
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance benefits

Responsabilités

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or establishes payment plans
• Coordinates with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues and ensures patients have necessary logistical information
• Verifies eligibility and benefits with insurance companies and obtains pre-authorizations within established timeframes
• Registers patients for all services ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records
• Provides coverage for PBX (Switchboard) and cashiering functions as needed
