Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient or representative to obtain demographics.
• Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Works with Admitting department including PBX operator and reception areas.
• Operates computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicates with population served using age-specific techniques.
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
• Special projects or assignments may be given with fixed timelines.
