Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Patient Representative to support access services. Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, collecting demographics, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and communicating financial information.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, HIPAA knowledge, and ability to work in a fast-paced team. Prior experience in patient access and familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Typing 45 WPM, basic ten key, Windows environment.
• HIPAA and confidentiality knowledge required.
• Experience with multiple computer applications/OS and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients efficiently and accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect required information.
• Schedule appointments and communicate appointment details.
• Provide patient with financial information, price estimates and payment options.
• Process and enter payments; balance as required.
• Understand billing and coding requirements and apply them per payer rules.
• Support a team environment with strong customer service.
