Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Patient Access Associate for an onsite float position in the Peoria area. The role focuses on ensuring complete and accurate OSF medical records, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, and guarantor information.

You will communicate effectively about services and financial responsibilities while delivering exceptional patient service. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in an office/customer service setting, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• Skills: Proficient in MS Office; strong written and oral communication; time management and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records including demographics, insurance, and guarantor data.
• Provide excellent patient service over the phone or in person and explain financial responsibilities.
• Utilize standard Office tools for navigation, data entry, and documentation; support revenue cycle training as needed.

Expected Pay

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

This is an onsite Float position to nearby OSF locations in the Peoria area

Position Summary

The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
• Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation. Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills. Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment. Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting.
• Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology.
