Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Danville, IL is seeking a Patient Access Associate to ensure accurate patient records, insurance coverage, and clear financial responsibilities for services. You will interact with patients by phone and in person to provide exceptional service.

The role requires high school completion, 1 year in clerical or customer service, and strong MS Office and navigation skills. Training on revenue cycle processes will be provided within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation.
  • Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills.
  • Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.
  • Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment (preferred).
  • Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers (preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record.
  • Explain services to patients and families; manage financial responsibilities and expectations.
  • Handle phone and in-person inquiries with strong customer service.
  • Navigate multi-payer scenarios with deductive reasoning to resolve issues.

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview
This job is located in Danville,IL
Monday - Friday Day shift and Second shift between 6a-530p and 2p-10:30p with a Holiday and Weekend rotation
2nd shift- 16 hours a week
Training will be on day shift up to 40 hours.
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.
