Job summary

OSF HealthCare is hiring a Patient Access Associate in Mendota, IL. This role ensures complete patient records, accurate insurance and guarantor data, and clear communication of services and financial responsibilities. You will engage with patients in person and over the phone, delivering excellent service to support smooth registrations.

Primary hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with intermittent travel to outpatient rehab clinics across the I-80 market as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.
• Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation.
• Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills.
• Required to complete all revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.
• Preferred experience: revenue cycle or medical setting; CPT4/ICD9/10/HCPCS knowledge; medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including demographics, insurance coverage, guarantor, and registration precision.
• Communicate what services are being received, financial responsibilities, and expectations while at the facility.
• Provide excellent patient service to create a positive first impression of OSF's services over the phone or in person.

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

This job is located in Mendota,IL

Monday through Friday - Primary Hours 8:30am-5:00pm

Position Summary

The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.
