Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an on-site Patient Access Associate to float among Peoria-area locations. You will ensure complete and accurate patient records, including demographics and insurance, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients and their families.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in clerical or customer service work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; preferred are 3 years in a similar setting and experience with revenue cycle

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

This is an onsite Float position to nearby OSF locations in the Peoria area

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment.

Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation. Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills. Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment. Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting.

Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology.
