Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a part-time Patient Access Associate in Galesburg, IL. The role focuses on ensuring complete patient records, accurate registrations, and clear communication of financial responsibilities to patients and families.

Hours are 20 per week with rotating weekends and holidays. The position requires strong customer service and problem-solving skills, and training will be provided within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Required High school diploma or GED.
• One year in an office clerical setting or customer service.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and website navigation.
• Good problem solving, conflict management, time management, and written/spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and ensure complete and accurate medical records.
• Explain financial responsibilities and insurance coverage to patients.
• Provide excellent patient service and engagement over the phone or in person.
• Resolve issues in a multi-payer environment with deductive reasoning.

Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

This job is located in Galesburg,IL

Sunday through Saturday hours varies- rotating weekends and holidays

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: One year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Three years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment. Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting Other skills/knowledge: Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology
