Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking an Associate Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, financial clearance and scheduling. The role includes check-ins, payment collection and insurance verification to ensure smooth visits within the Community Cancer Center East.

The APAR will use EPIC to pre-register patients, verify coverage, and enter accurate demographics and financial data, while maintaining EHR accuracy and compliance with CMS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in healthcare office settings and strong customer service is preferred.
• Proficient in all types of registrations (inpatient, outpatient, emergency).
• Completes admissions, discharges and transfers in a timely manner.
• Ability to monitor and facilitate patient movement within facilities.
• Uses EPIC work queues to pre-register scheduled patients.
• Verifies medical necessity per CMS standards and communicates coverage to patients.
• Accurately enters patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Gathers confidential health and financial information ensuring payment for services.
• Confirms completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and updates as needed.

Responsibilities

• APAR is the first contact for visitors, handling customer service and patient registration.

• Maintains compliance with guidelines and prepares patients administratively and financially.
