Qualifications

• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Prior registration knowledge required.
• Typing speed of 50+ WPM.
• Must pass alphanumeric skills test.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Prior medical terminology is required.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Speaks, reads and writes English; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accept admissions registrations for hospital services including SDS, ED and behavioral health.
• Input patient information in Paragon and complete forms.
• Verify demographics, financial and insurance information; update records as needed.
• Verify accuracy of demographics and insurance at admission; scan IDs and approvals into ILE.
• Coordinate with ED staff on admissions to behavioral health units and bed assignments.
• Refer self-pay patients to ARMDS for Medicaid or Charity Care qualification.
• Obtain financial clearance for ambulatory and outpatient psychiatric services; document payment plans.
• Admit, discharge and transfer patients across units as needed.
• Route admission forms to appropriate departments and ensure discharge dispositions are correct.
