Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center seeks an Admissions/Reception Administrator to handle onsite registration, arrival processes, discharge and insurance validation with occasional guidance. You will resolve issues related to registration, billing, insurance, and payment of accounts.

In this role you will perform administrative duties to ensure smooth department operations, enter cases into the admissions and billing system, and provide courteous customer service to patients and families

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare admin or registration processes preferred.
• Strong data entry and documentation skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs all assigned area functions per departmental guidelines.
• Performs administrative functions to ensure the department operates according to policies, procedures and protocols.
• Ensures that all cases are entered accurately and thoroughly into the admissions, discharge, transfer and billing system.
• Provides customer service and status updates in waiting room, in-room, and prior to patient departure.
• Requests payment and provides payment plan information for patient account balances when necessary.
