Job summary

Lexington Clinic in Lexington, KY seeks an Admitting Specialist to register patients at the ASC, explain billing policies, and handle cashiering transactions. You will issue receipts, prepare deposits, and maintain a balanced cash drawer while providing courteous service to patients and families.

You will answer incoming calls, direct inquiries to the right staff, and perform back-up duties in other areas of the ASC Business Office.

Qualifications

• Formal training indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent
• two years healthcare experience with insurance filing and billing duties
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• demonstrated tact and diplomacy under stressful conditions
• mathematical skills and ability to multitask

Responsibilities

• Registers patients in accordance with the Registration policy and procedure manual.
• Performs cashiering transactions: issuing receipts, preparing bank deposits, and balancing the cash drawer.
• Communicates to patients ASC billing and payment information.
• Answers all incoming calls and directs to the appropriate personnel.
• Performs back-up functions in other areas of the ASC Business Office.
