Job summary

Encino Hospital Medical Center in California is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to support admissions with patient demographics, insurance details and authorizations, while collaborating with the Admitting department.

The role requires strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospital environment. Per Diem schedule with variable shifts is available.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patient or representative to obtain demographics and insurance information.
• Input and retrieve data on a computer; verify eligibility, benefits and authorizations.
• Coordinate with Admitting department and PBX/reception areas as needed.
• Communicate with patients using age-appropriate techniques across all ages.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology throughout employment.
• Complete special projects within specified timeframes.
