Job summary

Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative (PAR) to streamline patient flow, perform registration, scheduling, and financial screening, and support clinical operations.

The role involves multi-tiered responsibilities with training to handle complex tasks under leadership guidance. The PAR will verify patient information, determine eligibility for programs, assist with billing documentation, and provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1–2 years’ EMR experience preferred.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from waiting room to exam room and document histories in the EMR.
• Assist providers during exams and perform basic diagnostic tests and document findings.
• Administer vaccines per policy and maintain vaccine documentation in EMR/NJIIS.
• Maintain a daily refrigerator temperature log and monthly updates.
• Follow infection control policies and maintain clean, safe exam rooms.
• Handle referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling of specialty appointments.
• Train and support staff; maintain CPR certification.
