Job summary

Unlimited Instruction, LLC in Durham, NC seeks a K-12 Exceptional Child Pathway Teacher for a temporary assignment. The role serves students in special education as a classroom teacher in a pathway program, with eligibility for a provisional SPED license for 2026-27 and beyond.

Responsibilities include building relationships, planning and delivering instruction, managing behaviors, collaborating with staff, using technology to enhance learning, and supporting IEPs/BSPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or institution.
• Foundations of special education course or willingness to take it as a term of employment.
• Will work toward obtaining a provisional Special Education License from North Carolina.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
• Assess and monitor student achievement and maintain documents and evaluations for reporting.
• Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
• Manage student behaviors to create a conducive learning environment.
• Assist in behavior management across school settings as needed.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Participate in in-service and professional development activities and meetings.
• Communicate instructional expectations and student progress to students and parents.
• Collaborate with professionals and support staff on schoolwide activities.
• Utilize multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
• Plan lessons aligned with division and school objectives for varying abilities.
• Provide development, management, and support for IEPs, BSPs, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
