Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or institution.
• Foundations of Exceptional Children course completed or willing to take the course as a term of employment.
• Will work toward a provisional Exceptional Children License from North Carolina.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
• Assess and monitor student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
• Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
• Manage student behaviors to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Communicate instructional expectations to students and parents.
