Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Foundations of special education course completed or willing to take the course.
• Candidate will work toward a provisional Special Education License from Virginia.
• Strong communication with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
• Assess student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting purposes.
• Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
• Manage student behaviors to create a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with professional staff to maximize student learning opportunities.
• Use multimedia and other technologies to enhance learning.
• Plan lessons based on division and school objectives for diverse learners.
• Provide development and support for IEPs, BSPs, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
