Job summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Rochester Corps is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to provide direct support to program participants and to recruit and provide a full range of case management services for POH participants. The role includes housing assessments, financial assistance, and promoting Salvation Army programs within the community.

Essential functions include maintaining accurate records, conducting long-term case management, and supporting events.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Social Work degree license required if applicable.
• Previous social services experience required.
• Background checks required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• ServSafe certification or ability to gain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide participants with direct support and assistance (housing assessments, Heatshare, vouchers, financial assistance).
• Maintain up-to-date participant information in casefiles and through database entry and internal reporting.
• Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants.
• Assist with seasonal and special events.
• Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and the community.
• Occasionally assist with food preparation and meal service.
• Engage in activities to promote The Salvation Army and POH goals.
