Job summary

Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is seeking Pathway Initiatives Specialists to coordinate work-based learning opportunities and help develop regional career pathways. The role partners with employers, school districts, higher education, and communities to expand career-connected learning and strengthen workforce initiatives.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for the degree. Travel across the region is expected as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; comparable experience may substitute year-for-year for degree.
• Minimum of three years experience in education, workforce development, program coordination, partnership development, or related field preferred.
• Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills and be willing to travel throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work-based learning experiences with industry partners, educators, and students.
• Support development and alignment of career and education pathways addressing regional workforce needs.
• Coordinate and maintain partnerships among education, workforce, industry, and community stakeholders.
• Work with regional education service centers, partner districts, employers, and postsecondary institutions to implement workforce/education initiatives.
• Serve as primary point of contact for students, educators, and employers in assigned programs.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations with education, workforce, and industry partners.
• Support implementation and coordination of assigned grants, programs, and regional initiatives.
• Collect and maintain program data to support grant reporting and performance tracking.

Pathway Initiatives Specialists coordinate work-based learning opportunities and support the development of career pathways across the West Central Texas region. This position works closely with employers, school districts, higher education institutions, and community partners to expand career-connected learning opportunities, strengthen regional workforce initiatives, and prepare students for high-demand careers.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred. Comparable and relevant experience may substitute year-for-year for a four-year degree. A minimum of three years of experience in education, workforce development, program coordination, partnership development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills and be willing to travel throughout the region.

Job Duties

• Coordinate work-based learning experiences with industry partners, educators, and students.
• Support the development and alignment of high-quality career and education pathways that address regional workforce needs.
• Coordinate and maintain partnerships among education, workforce, industry, and community stakeholders to support workforce initiatives and career-connected learning.
• Work closely with regional education service centers, partner school districts, employers, and postsecondary institutions to implement workforce and education initiatives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for students, educators, and employers participating in assigned programs and initiatives.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings, workshops, presentations, and other engagement activities with education, workforce, and industry partners.
• Support the implementation and coordination of assigned grants, programs, and regional initiatives.
• Collect and maintain program data to support grant reporting, presentations, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
• Promote Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas programs, services, and initiatives throughout the region.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the initiative to outreach internal and external stakeholders by phone calls, emails, and in-person site visits. Professional communication skills are required.
• Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and prioritize tasks appropriately.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products and willingness to become proficient in CRM software.
