St. Mary's Hospital is seeking a locum Pathologist to cover for the retirement of the current pathologist starting July 1, 2025, for a minimum of 6 months. Responsibilities include performing surgical pathology and clinical pathology procedures, with a patient load of approximately 1,800 billables daily. The role requires board certification, an active Georgia license, and BLS certification, with a rotating call schedule every two weeks.

Coverage Dates: Starting July 1, 2025, for a minimum of 6 months
Schedule: 8:00-4:30 or 9:00-5:30
Call Schedule: Rotating every two weeks
Certifications: CLIA, CAP, AABB
Cases Read Per Day: 10-15 per pathologist
Clinical Lab Responsibilities: Taking call for blood bank/organ procurement (rare), frozen sections (two weeks on, two weeks off), reviewing specimens meeting review criteria
Specimen Grossing: Yes
Frozen Section Cutting: No
Group Size: 2 physicians
Histotechnologists: 6
Supervision of Healthcare Providers: No
Other Pathologists Present: Yes
Equipment: Bond IHC, Leica and Thermo cryostats, Zeiss microscopes
Cytology: Non-GYN only, liquid base prep, cytology proficiency exam required
Patient Load: Approximately 1,800 billables daily in clinical lab
