A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Pathologist to oversee a full-service laboratory. Responsibilities include managing Anatomic and Clinical Pathology sections, performing frozen sections, and providing oversight for laboratory operations. The position requires an active PA license and relevant certifications. Ideal candidates will have significant experience and the ability to work independently.
The Pathologist is typically in the hospital for a full day on a Mon-Fri basis and oversees a full-service laboratory including Anatomic and Clinical Pathology sections. Responsibilities include gross anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytological pathology. The Pathologist attends to frozen section and biopsy procedures as needed and serves as the Medical Director of the clinical Laboratory, providing physician oversight for sections like Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, and Blood Bank. Response to STAT Frozen Section or Blood Bank concerns is rare.
Typical Cases include Anatomic and Clinical Pathology cases. Procedures involve frozen sections from surgical procedures, biopsies, surgical specimens from the OR and gastroenterology, surgical pathology, non-gyn cytology, and Pap smears. No autopsies are performed.
Patient Mix: 98% Adult, 2% Pediatric.
