A leading healthcare provider is seeking a locum Pathologist in Athens, Georgia, for a minimum six-month assignment starting July 1, 2025. The role involves reviewing specimens, performing required pathology procedures, and taking call for the clinical lab. Ideal candidates will be board certified, hold an active Georgia license, and possess BLS certification.
Hospital is looking for a locum Pathologist to start as soon as credentialed!
Practice Setting: Hospital
Dates of Coverage: Beginning July 1, 2025, minimum 6 month assignment
Schedule: 8-4:30 or 9-5:30
Call Schedule: rotating call every two weeks
Call Ratio: rotating call every two weeks
What Type of Certification Does Your Laboratory Hold?: CLIA, CAP, AABB
Approx. Number of Cases Read Per Day: 10-15 per day per pathologist
What Will Be the Locum Tenen Physician s Responsibility for the Clinical Lab (Blood Bank, etc.)? Taking call blood bank/organ procurement (rare)/frozen sections two weeks on and two weeks off. Also reviewing specimens from techs that meet pathologist review criteria.

Will the Locum Provider Be Cutting Their Own Frozen Sections on the Cryostat? No

Pathologist cuts frozens after hours only. Grossing is alternated one day biopsies and one day surgical sections
