Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services in Racine, WI is seeking an experienced Pathology Supervisor to oversee daily operations of a high-volume pathology laboratory. This hands-on leadership role supervises Histotechnicians and Laboratory Assistants, ensuring quality, productivity, turnaround times and regulatory compliance.

The Pathology Supervisor will supervise staff, schedule, train, manage workflow, oversee inventory, ensure quality assurance, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a science-related field required.
• Histology training program completed is required.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related laboratory experience; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision to Histotechnicians and Laboratory Assistants to optimize quality and productivity.
• Monitor workflow and staffing to meet production goals and turnaround times.
• Troubleshoot and address laboratory issues; elevate when needed.
• Maintain inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
• Lead team meetings and communicate with management on performance and needs.
• Develop staff schedules and manage PTO and timesheets.
• Oversee training, competency documentation, and CLIA compliance.
• Drive quality improvement and process optimization initiatives.
• Perform technical pathology duties as needed to support operations.
