Qualifications

Current pathology experience including assisting in receipt and processing surgical specimens.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills necessary to work under time constraints.
Ability to keep detailed records.
Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

Receives, transports, logs, and prepares gross surgical and cytology specimens.
Assists pathologist with gross examination and handling of specimens.
Maintains wet tissue storage and disposes of tissues per procedures.
Assists with clerical duties including filing, mailing, and distributing reports.
Properly labels, stores, and disposes reagents and hazardous wastes per regulations.
