Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Pathology focus professional in Santa Rosa, CA, to perform high complexity testing and support tissue handling, data reporting, and quality assurance across the pathology workflow.

The role involves independent operation of lab equipment, reviewing testing processes for accuracy, and assisting in autopsy-related activities as appropriate, while ensuring patient care timelines are met and regulatory guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical lab science or equivalent, or health care related field.
• Pathologist's Assistant Certificate required at hire.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field OR minimum five (5) years of experience in medical technology, clinical laboratory sciences, or health care related field.

Responsibilities

• Pursues effective relationships by providing resources, information, advice, and expertise to coworkers and members.
• Completes work autonomously using up-to-date expertise to generate creative solutions and ensure procedures meet policies.
• Maintains testing and training standards and updates training materials for accuracy and relevance.
• Maintains compliance with regulations, accreditation standards, and inspection checklists for laboratories and facilities.
• Acts as a liaison between medical laboratory services and other services, monitoring regulatory changes and coordinating lab operations and quality management.
• Oversees day-to-day laboratory operations, manages inventory and costs, and provides status reports on projects and processes.
• Coordinates service quality by following policies for audits, proficiency testing, and issue resolution.
