Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains diagnostic viability of all specimens received and ensures correct labeling.
• Completes sorting and accessioning of pathology specimens.
• Initiates daily grossing log with patient name, accession#, and slide protocol notes.
• Prepares specimen cassettes and organizes slides for distribution to the Pathologist.
• Identifies problems and alerts senior staff; troubleshoots with supervision.
• Responds to endoscopy center and physician requests related to pathology.
• Filing and inventorying patient slides and blocks; manages lab supply inventory.
• Maintains lab equipment with upkeep and quality control checks.
