Job summary

UIW invites part-time candidates for Assistant/Associate Professor of Pathology in the School of Osteopathic Medicine to teach pathology to osteopathic medical students within the DO curriculum. This non-tenure track appointment teaches at UIW's Brooks City Base Campus in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities include teaching in a learner-centered, case-based curriculum, curriculum development, professional development, advising students, and service to the department and university.

Qualifications

• DO or MD from a COCA or LCME accredited medical school.
• Completion of Anatomic & Clinical Pathology residency (ACGME-accredited).
• Board certified or eligible in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
• Texas medical license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Three years teaching pathology at medical school or residency level.

Responsibilities

• Teach pathology in a learner-centered, case-based curriculum.
• Participate in curriculum development.
• Advise students and provide weekly office hours.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
• Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook and policies; timely record keeping and feedback.
• Serve on committees and subcommittees as appointed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
