Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a Pathology Clerk to join its laboratory team in Glen Burnie, MD. The role supports specimen accessioning, patient and insurance data entry, and pathology report management while ensuring patient privacy and compliance.

Schedule: M-F 8:30-5pm; Pay rate: $20-22/hr. Join a long-standing dermatology leader with 300+ clinicians and 110+ locations offering growth and training.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of typing or data-entry experience with at least 40 WPM.
• Experience transcribing medical-related documents preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a pathology laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in PathLogix.
• Accession pathology specimens and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in specimen, patient, or insurance information.
• Verify accepted insurance information and coordinate specimen transfers when coverage requirements are not met.
• Identify and route DIF specimens and other specialized pathology materials.
• Retrieve prior and archived pathology reports and distribute to client locations.
• Communicate professionally with client offices to verify information and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain an organized work area and support accurate laboratory workflow.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
