Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pathology Assistant for a per diem role. The position involves preparing and examining surgical pathology specimens, assisting with postmortem examinations, supporting research, and documenting findings to aid diagnosis and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Pathology required or Master's in Pathologists' Assistant preferred.
• 2–3 years related experience required.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and perform tissue dissection as part of duties.

Responsibilities

• Dictates gross descriptions and performs complete dissections of surgical specimens.
• Selects and submits tissue sections for microscopic examination.
• Instructs residents and students on gross description and sampling procedures.
• Assists with collecting tissue for quality control, teaching, research, and tissue banking.
• Prepares frozen sections for telepathology review and verifies legal authorization before postmortem examinations.
