Job summary

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is a non-profit Tribal health organization serving Alaska Native and American Indian people. This Full-Time Pathology Assistant position is based in Anchorage and offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and on-site services.

Responsibilities include specimen accessioning support, clinical information review, histology preparation, and intraoperative consultations under protocol.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree as a Pathology Assistant and board-certified/eligible.
  • Non-supervisory role with at least 1 year of directly related experience.
  • Current ASCP or American Society for Clinical Pathology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assure proper specimen collection and submission prior to accessioning.
  • Assist clinicians with specimen collection questions.
  • Obtain and review pertinent clinical information and history, including imaging studies, laboratory results, and operative records.
  • Perform macroscopic description and dissection of surgical specimens for cancer staging.
  • Prepare tissue for frozen sections for pathologist within protocol.
