Job summary

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking a Pathology Assistant to support the Alaska Native Medical Center, assisting with specimen collection, macroscopic description, and intraoperative consultation under the supervision of a pathologist. The role requires a Master’s degree in Pathology Assistant and board certification or eligibility, with at least one year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Pathology Assistant or closely related field.
• Board certification or eligibility required/preferred.
• Minimum experience in pathology supporting activities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with specimen collection and submission before accessioning.
• Obtain and review pertinent clinical information and history.
• Perform macroscopic description and dissection of surgical specimens.
• Prepare tissue for frozen sections and intraoperative consultations.
• Maintain quality and safety standards in the pathology workflow.
