Job summary

Incyte Pathology is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant I/II to support patient care through gross examinations of surgical specimens, autopsy assistance, and high-quality documentation. Role includes leadership/mentorship of lab staff and pathologists’ assistants, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

The candidate will perform gross examinations, dissections, dictation, and high-quality photography for reports and teaching.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• ASCP certification (PA) required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a pathology or laboratory setting; additional experience with complex cases is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and open to learning new laboratory software.
• A natural mentor—willing to guide, instruct, and support others.
• A team-oriented professional who takes pride in precision, safety, and excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example—provide guidance, mentorship, and support to lab staff and pathologists’ assistants.
• Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens with accurate documentation.
• Capture and maintain high-quality photographs of gross specimens for reports, teaching, and reference.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace and laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with pathologists on frozen sections, autopsies, and OR consultations; process tissues and present findings.
