Job summary

Incyte Pathology in Richland, WA, is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant I or II to support patient care through gross examinations, dissections, and dictation of surgical specimens, with a focus on accuracy and leadership.

You will mentor staff, assist with autopsies, manage photographs, and ensure CLIA/CAP compliance. The role requires NAACLS-accredited PA program, ASCP PA certification, 1+ year experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program.
• ASCP certification (PA) required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a pathology or laboratory setting; complex cases a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills under pressure.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and learning new lab software.
• Mentor others; team-oriented with a focus on precision and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example—guide, mentor and support lab staff and PAs.
• Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens.
• Capture and maintain high-quality photographs for reports and teaching.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with pathologists on frozen sections, autopsies and OR consultations.
• Remain compliance-ready with CLIA, CAP and regulatory requirements.
• Train and mentor staff; contribute to continuous lab improvements.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support the department.
