Qualifikationen

• NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program required.
• ASCP certification required.
• 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Aufgaben

• Performs gross examination, dissection and dictation of surgical pathology specimens.
• Travel to regional facilities for autopsies, procedures and frozen section support (~25%).
• Selects representative tissue sections for microscopic evaluation.
• Manages frozen sections independently, including cryostat cutting and slide prep.
• Mentors gross techs, PA I, students and other staff.
• Maintains digital records/photos of gross specimens for teaching.
• Participates in autopsies with autonomy and Pathologist oversight.
• Contributes to quality assurance and process-improvement initiatives.
• Follows CAP, CLIA and institutional accreditation standards; adheres to biosafety/PPE guidelines.
