Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
• One year clinical experience if program-trained
• Three years clinical experience if on-the-job trained
• Experience with computer systems

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to pathology residents, fellows and pathology assistant students in surgical and autopsy pathology, acting as a resource and mentor.
• Performs gross dissection of surgical specimens, using standard dissection protocols and submits tissues for histological processing.
• Dictates accurate gross descriptions for each specimen and assists with intra-operative consultations.
• Photographs specimens for documentation and maintains a digital photography database.
