Qualifications

• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated in Licenses and Certifications.
• One year clinical experience if program-trained
• Three years clinical experience if on-the-job trained
• Experience with computer systems

Responsibilities

• Provides gross examination of surgical pathology specimens and dictates gross descriptions.
• Instructs pathology residents and pathology assistant students in gross surgical pathology.
• Performs gross dissection of large and small surgical specimens using standard protocols.
• Photographs specimens for documentation and presentations; maintains digital photography database.
• Assists with intra-operative specimens and reviews frozen sections for quality assurance.
